Do I have to pay for a lawyer?

It does not cost you anything to have a workers’ compensation lawyer. If I need to bring a claim, then the insurer pays me a statutory fee according the M.G.L.c. 152. If benefits are obtained, and a lump sum (a projection of future weekly benefits) is considered, I could be entitled to up to 20% of the lump sum settlement if agreed to by you.
